Design Validation Pre-Check With Solo Studio

What is Design Validation Pre-Check?

Design validation is a process that occurs in Solo, when using a TPO finance product, when it has been determined that a design needs to be validated by an expert designer. This process is used to address possible production/design-related roadblocks early on, that may prevent the homeowner from receiving final funding approval. 

Before Solo Studio, design validation only occurred when changes had been made to a design that was created by Solo's design team. With Solo Studio, any design created through the Solo Studio tool that will be using TPO finance products will need to be validated. Pre-Check allows you to validate your design earlier than credit submission.

Why Pre-Check?

• A design created through Solo Studio will need to be validated before the customer can be approved for their TPO product.

• Completing Pre-Check early on can help prevent the need for design changes or change orders during the application process.
• If completed early on, can allow you to present a validated design to your customer from the get-go. 
• Reduces frustration that can occur when changes are needed on designs your customer has potentially already signed for.

How does Pre-Check Work? 

Pre-Check can occur at anytime between proposal creation and credit submission, but users will be prompted to complete Pre-Check (if needed) when the proposal is first created:

1. When a proposal is created from a completed design, you will be asked if the customer is using TPO: 

   1. If Yes: It is recommended to submit for Pre-Check now to prevent the need for validation and/or change orders further down the line. 
   2. If No: Pre-Check is not needed, proceed to creating your proposal. This does not prevent you from selecting a TPO product on the proposal. 
   
   
   
2. If yes, you'll be asked if you'd like complete Pre-Check or to complete it later:
   1. If Yes: The design will immediately enter the design validation queue & the proposal you receive will be locked until validation is complete.
   2. If No: Proposal will be generated as normal, but you'll have the option to complete Pre-Check at a later time.
   
   
   
   
3. Once you select your Pre-Check preference, click 'Create Proposal' to generate your proposal.
   1. If you chose to complete Pre-Check immediately, the proposal will be delivered in a locked state. This means that no changes can be made to the proposal's design until validation is complete.
