Design validation occurs when it has been determined that the customer's proposed design needs to be validated by our internal teams. An expert designer will review the design or change order to ensure it still meets all of EnFin's compliance requirements in order to address possible concerns early-on and prevent roadblocks down the line.  This will act as a temporary lock on the proposal until completed and may look slightly different depending on what point of the application process you're in.   --- ### When is Design Validation Needed? When Design Validation is needed will depend on what point of the application process you're in. There are two times when Design Validation may be triggered:  #### Initial Credit Submission On Initial credit submission, Design Validation is triggered when a design is created by or adjusted by a non-Solo party. This means that design validation is needed on initial credit submission when: - A design is created through Solo Studio, not by a Solo designer. - Changes\* have been made to a Solo-created design. - Changes\* have been made to a design created through Solo Studio, after it has already been validated. - Solo does not have 3D data/DSM for the location of the home. \*Proposal design changes, made through Studio in the Proposal, that can trigger DV include: - Shade % changes - Azimuth changes - Tilt changes - Adding a new array   #### Change Order Submission When submitting a change order, the proposal data will be sent to the EnFin system to determine the need for Design Validation. **If the system detects changes in system production, design validation will be needed.**  --- ### The Design Validation Process 1. Upon **credit** **approval or change order submission,** the system will review the proposal to determine the need for Design Validation. 2. If validation is needed, your proposal will automatically enter our Design Validation queue to be reviewed by our team.  1. While our team is reviewing your design, **your proposal will be locked and the following features will be disabled**: 1. Changes to system design (toggling panels on/off) 2. Module and Inverter Selection 3. Studio in the proposal (Basic and Advanced) 4. Shade Adjustments 4. If you enter design validation on initial credit submission, you will see a stipulation in the EnFin portal, that will prevent you from proceeding past NTP, until the design validation is passed or a change order is submitted (if DV is failed).  ![image](https://help.gosolo.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Help%20Center%20Images/image.png?width=670&height=224&name=image.png) 5. The design will either pass or fail design validation: 1. **Pass**: The design meets EnFin's compliance requirements and no further action is required. You'll have the option to process a change order if changes are needed later. 2. **Fail**: The design did not meet EnFin's compliance requirements and our team had to make changes to keep it within those requirements.  ![EnFin\_DVFailedChatMessage](https://help.gosolo.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Help%20Center%20Images/EnFin_DVFailedChatMessage.png?width=386&height=162&name=EnFin_DVFailedChatMessage.png) 6. **If design validation failed**, you will need to acknowledge the changes made and will need to manually submit a change order. This will open a modal, explaining the changes that were made to meet requirements. Click '**Proceed With Change Order**' to formally acknowledge and submit the change order.  1. If design validation failed on a change order request, you will have the option to revise the design (pictured below). Once design validation is completed and the change order is processed (if needed), the proposal will be unlocked and disabled features will be re-enabled. If additional changes are made to the proposal after this process is completed, an additional change order will be needed, in which case your proposal will re-enter the design validation process.    -
