Adding Panels and Arrays in DirectDesign
To use this feature, you must have access to DirectDesign
When our designers create the initial design, they will create an array for every roof plane on the main structure, even if they do not place panels on each array. The process of adding panels to an empty array will be different than adding a brand new one. Use the links below to jump to the section most applicable to what you're looking to add to your proposal:
- Adding panels to an existing array
- Creating a brand new array
- This will be done in instances where you are adding a ground mount or adding panels to a detached structure.

Creating a Brand New Array
Typically, the only instances where you'll be creating a new array is when adding a ground mounted system or adding panels to a detached structure that does not currently have arrays drawn. Please double check that any roof arrays you draw are not overlapping with existing ones drawn by our proposal team.
- To add an array to your proposal's design, navigate to the Design Page and click "Edit".
- In the top right, use the toggle to turn DirectDesign on.
- Under "Info" in the side menu, click "Add New Array".
- Click and drag to draw a line that will determine the azimuth. The arrow should be facing the way you'd like the panels to face.
- Tip: Drawing from left to right will face the array South.
