Live and expiration dates allow you to control when/what proposals an option appears for. This article covers the following topics, click the link to jump to that section:
Live Dates
Live Dates control the date and time that an option begins appearing proposals. This means that proposals made on/after that date will display the option. In the example below, this option will only appear on proposals made after May 1st, 2025:
Any proposal made before this date will not have this option available.
On Optimizer settings, the live date is called the "Start Date"
Expiration Dates
Expiration Dates control the date and time an option stops appearing on proposals. This means that proposals made on/after that date will NOT display the option. For example, the option below will only appear on proposals made between May 1st and and July 31st, 2025:
Any proposal made after this date will not have this option available.
Where live dates are required, expiration dates are not. If the expiration date is left empty, that option will display on all proposals made after the live date, indefinitely or until an expiration date is added. Expiration dates can be useful when you'd like to remove an option from your offering without affecting past proposals.
Backdating an Option
Backdating an option, or making it apply retroactively, can be done using an options live date. When you add a new option to MissionControl, the live date will default to the date and time it was added. If you would like the new option to appear on proposals that have already been created, you can adjust the live date to as far back in the past as you would like.
You can also backdate expiration dates if you'd like to remove an option from past proposals.
Where are Live/Expiration Dates in MissionControl?
Most settings in MissionControl have a live and expiration date for each option. This includes:
- Finance Options
- Modules
- Inverters
- Batteries
- Optimizers
- There is a live/expiration date for the option as a whole and for each pricing version within a state condition.
- Adders
- For adders, the live/expiration date is determined within the adder pricing history. The option will appear on proposals according to the current pricing version.
