Accessing & Editing Existing Templates in DocuSign
- Once you’re logged into DocuSign, click into the “Templates” page:
- This page will display all of your existing templates. Use the search bar to find specific templates.
- You can also use the “Advanced Search” to search templates by something other than the name (ID, Owner, etc).

- Click on the template you’d like to view/edit by clicking the name. This will take you to the template edit page.
- You can also complete quick actions by clicking the three dots on the right.

- To edit any aspect of the template, click the “Edit” button.
- Here, you can edit the following:
- Name
- Description
- Included Documents
- Signing Order
- To edit the fields on a document template, click the “Next” button in the bottom right.
- This page will allow you to adjust or add data labels. To edit a specific data label, click on it and use the menu to the right.
- To change which signer the data label is assigned to, use the dropdown in the top right:
- Once all desired changes have been made, make sure to click “Save and Close” in the bottom right.

- Please keep in mind that this will make changes to future envelopes and will not affect envelopes that have already been sent.
