About Brand and Graph Theme Colors

Setting your theme colors is an easy way to set your company apart from others and shows your company's professionalism.

SolarNexus' provided document templates make use of these color variables so that your company can use them, but have the colors updated to reflect your company's brand. These document theme colors can be applied to any custom templates you may develop for your company.

There are two sets of theme colors available:

1. Brand Colors - These are document template variables that allow you to set the colors for any elements within a template, such as text and other elements like borders
2. Graph/Chart Colors - These colors are automatically used in graphs displayed on the Services screen, the Analysis screen, and included in document templates

For Graph colors, SolarNexus provides multiple pre-defined theme palettes to choose from, or you may define your own custom palette of colors. SolarNexus provides a description of the various data series that each color represents so that you can assign colors more meaningfully.

Theme colors are defined using valid HTML hex codes. A hex code is a six character alpha-numeric code (can contain numbers and letters). The six character code is preceded by a hash character, for example:

• #000000 (this is black)
• #ffffff (this is white)

Set Custom Theme Colors

Simply navigate to Administration menu > Document Templates > Edit Document Theme, input the hex color codes you wish to use, and click Save. All documents generated after the change will incorporate the new color settings.

NOTE: You may want to copy down existing color codes prior to making changes, in case you want to change them back. There is no Undo function.

How to Get Hex Codes for My Brand Colors?

HTML identifies colors using a hex code. A hex code is a six character alpha-numeric code (can contain numbers and letters). The six character code is preceded by a hash character, for example:

• #000000 (this is black)
• #ffffff (this is white)

If your marketing department does not already have the hex codes for your brand colors, there are a number of ways to identify them using a variety of tools. Professional image editing software is a good resource, but not everyone has these available.

Graph/Chart Colors for Deprecated Image-Based Graphs

The many graphs/charts that SolarNexus generates show various data series in a different color. The default colors can be updated to reflect your own company's branding or other preferences.
