What's New with DirectDesign

We’re excited to share that Direct Design 2.0 (Beta) is now live, bringing a cleaner, smarter interface and brand-new tree editing tools to the solar design experience.

Here's what's new in DirectDesign 2.0:

Updated DirectDesign UI - Now in Beta!

We've refreshed the DirectDesign interface to make navigating and editing your designs faster and more intuitive. Design tools are now grouped to provide a clearer, more guided design process:

Tree Management - Now in Beta!

Users can now add, remove, and adjust trees directly in DirectDesign! This allows for a more visual and accurate representation of shading conditions! While this feature is new to DirectDesign, it isn't new to Solo. Our system has been calculating shade impacts from surrounding trees for a long time. Now, you can model changes like tree trimming or tree removal yourself, without having to request a revision.

Street View - Now in Beta!

Access Google Street View to get a clearer visual context for shading, obstructions, and rooftop surroundings! Street view will help you ensure that tree placement, height, and width is accurate, without leaving the proposal!

Moving the focus from Shade to TSRF

We’ve made a big improvement to how solar production is represented in DirectDesign — and you may have noticed that the shade value and shade override button are no longer visible. Instead, we now display TSRF (Total Solar Resource Fraction).
