Understanding Imagery for Roofing Designs
When creating designs for a roofing proposal, Solo uses the same imagery providers as we do for Solar. This includes providers like Nearmaps, Vexcel, and Google.
Our team has access to multiple images of most homes, including varying capture dates. This means that if a recent change has been made to the roof measurements or layout, we will more than likely have up-to-date imagery to accommodate. Designers will use the imagery that best represents the roof outline to accurately create roofing proposals.
Additionally, for homes with a large amount of surrounding trees, that potentially obscure the roof from being visible in the designer, our team will usually have access to 'leaf-off' data. This allows us to view the roof and get accurate measurements from imagery captured during winter months where the trees' leaves are not hiding the roof.
If you'd like to learn more about imagery used on a design, you can refer to this article about imagery on a Solar design. While not all information may be applicable to roofing designs, Solo is employing the same technology and imagery providers for both industry proposals.
