Creating a Template

  1. In DocuSign, navigate to the “Templates” section and click “Start”> “Envelope Templates” > “Create a Template”:
  2. Name your template as desired. The name you use in DocuSign will also be used when adding your documents to Solo. 
    1. You are also able to add a template description, however, this will not appear anywhere in Solo and will only be visible to your team.
  3. Upload the blank documents (no actual customer information) that you would like to use for this template.

  4. Add the standard recipients for the template, using the “Add Recipients” button. For every template, you'll set up these standard recipients. These must be entered exactly like below:
    1. Sales Rep
    2. Homeowner

  5. Check “Set Signing Order” to configure the order in which recipients will receive the documents. Each recipient has a number that must be set exactly as below to follow the correct signing order. The name and number must match exactly:
    1. Sales Rep with the order of 5 
    2. Homeowner with the order of 10

  6. Click Next in the bottom right and begin adding the data labels/building the template.
  7. Click and drag data labels to assign them to them applicable fields. Use these three resources to complete this step:

  8. The data labels will be color-coded according to the signer whose responsibility it is to fill in, view, or sign. You can adjust the signer for new data labels in the top left corner.
  9. Save and Close the template using the button in the bottom right corner. This will take you back to your Templates home screen.

  11. In your MissionControl portal in Solo, you’ll see a “SoloSign ToolKit” banner on the right.

  13. Using this form, submit the template ID you just created to our support team, and we’ll add your documents to your Solo account! We’ll notify you via email when that has been completed!
