Only six are needed for a CAD request. The other three photos are necessary for engineering only.
Six photos required for a CAD request
-
Main Panel: This is the electrical service panel that is fed directly from the meter. This will help our CAD designers determine what kind of interconnection is viable. This will also be needed for any sub-panels, if applicable.
-
Main Panel Label: A legible shot of the label inside the MSP is needed, including what the panel is rated for and its diagram. This will be needed for any sub-panels as well, if applicable.
-
Surrounding Panel: For this photo, roughly 6ft around the meter/main service panel will need to be visible. This is to ensure that there is space for the new equipment that comes with a solar system and to work out where the equipment will go.
-
For example, in the image on the left, the designer would need to be mindful of the brick and the gas line:
-
- Main Breaker: The main breaker is the main shut-off for the home. If this is turned off then the home loses power. We need this photo to get the main breaker rating. This will also be needed for any sub-panels, if applicable.
- Utility Meter: This photo will need to be a legible photo of the utility meter. This can help the designer what kind of service the customer has and confirm that the utility company is correct. Currently, Solo only works with single-phase (residential), we do not work with three-phase systems (commercial).
- Meter Location: This photo should include the meter and enough of the surrounding area to determine the meter's location in the home. This will help the designer determine where the new solar equipment should be placed in the home.
