Does the new production engine account for tree growth over time?

Does the new production engine account for tree growth over time? How does it differentiate between trees that shade annually vs. trees that don't shade in winter?

Currently, we do not account for tree growth over time or trees not having leaves in the winter. We do, however, model spheres or cones to account for different tree types.
