Editing an Optimizer
The MissionControl portal is only accessible to users with the SAAS Owner role.
In this article:
Accessing the Optimizer Editor
In MissionControl, you're able to customize how each optimizer appears and behaves on your solar proposals.
- To edit an option, open MissionControl from the Solo sidebar, then navigate to the Optimizers section.

- Find the optimizer option that you'd like to edit, then click the pencil icon.

You will then be able to edit your optimizer option. This includes the ability to edit the following:
- Start & Expiration Dates
- State Conditions (State-specific settings)
- Inverter Manufacturer conditions
- Module Conditions
- Pricing Versions & Settings
Click the links above to jump to the relevant section. Once you've made your desired changes, don't forget to review and save!
Start & Expiration Dates
The start and expiration dates allow you to control when/what proposals the option appears for.
- Start Date: Proposals made on or after this date/time will show the option
- Expiration Date: Proposals made on or after this date will NOT show the option. Leave this empty if you'd like the option to appear indefinitely.

Please note: This is different from the Live and expiration dates associated with the optimizer's pricing condition versions. This setting affects the appearance of the optimizer option as a whole.

State Conditions
All settings for optimizers will be specific to a State Condition, which allows you to set up different settings for your optimizers depending on the state the proposal is in. Each state condition can have its own module and inverter requirements, and its own pricing versions.
There are a few ways you can configure the state condition to work with your state-specific needs:
Add New States
This allows you to add additional states to an existing condition. Any state/territory that has not already been added to a condition will be listed here.

Adding a state to a condition will allow the optimizer to appear in proposals within that state, with the settings associated with the condition.
Edit Existing States
This allows you to do two things:
-
Remove a state from the existing condition
-
Move a state to its own condition so you can edit it without effecting the existing one.
To remove a state from the condition, select it in the list under 'Search States', then click 'Delete':

To move a state to its own condition, select it in the list under 'Search States', then click 'Continue Editing':

Add New State Condition
This allows you to configure separate settings for certain states, not already included in your existing conditions. This means that you can have different settings for each state, but for the same optimizer.
When adding a new condition, you'll need to select which states will be included. Please keep in mind: a state can only be added to one conditional at a time.

Inverter Manufacturer Conditions
This will determine which inverters from your company offering are compatible with the optimizer. This list will only show manufacturers for inverters that have optimizer requirements configured.

Please Note: This list will only show manufacturers, however, the inverter condition will only apply to the specific inverter(s) under the manufacturer that you have set to allow optimizers.
Module Conditions
This will determine which modules from your company offering the optimizer will be selectable with. There are two ways to set module conditions:
Compatible Modules
Select options from your module offering that are compatible with the optimizers. The optimizer will only be available when one of the specified modules is selected on the proposal.

Module Wattage Range
Input a minimum and maximum wattage and the optimizer will only be available when the module selected on the proposal has a wattage within that range.

Pricing Versions & Settings
Each condition will have it's pricing set up in versions. For each version will have the following settings:
Module to Optimizer Ratio
This determines how many optimizers will be added when this optimizer is selected, based on how many modules are being used on the proposal. For ex: if this value is set at 2, and the system is 20 modules, then there will be 10 optimizers (20 modules ÷ 2 ration = 10 optimizers).

Price By
This allows you to select how to price the optimizer, using one of two options:
- Per Optimizer: this value will be multiplied by the number of optimizers being used on the proposal, to get the final optimizer price.
- Per Watt: this value will be multiplied by the system size in watts of the proposal, to get the final optimizer price.

Price
This is the cost of the optimizer that will be used in conjunction with the 'Price By' field to determine the final cost of the optimizer on the proposal.

Live & Expiration Dates
This allows you to control what dates, and therefore which proposals, these pricing settings & version applies to.
- Live Date: Proposals fitting the state condition, made on or after this date/time will show this version's settings.
- Expiration Date: Proposals made on or after this date will NOT show this version's pricing settings. Leave this empty if you'd like the settings to appear indefinitely.

Adding a New Version
Use this to create new pricing settings without affecting the price of the condition on previous proposals. When setting live and expiration dates, these dates cannot overlap another version's date range.

Saving & Reviewing Your Changes
Once you make your desired updates, don't forget to click 'Update'! Once you've made your changes to all options you wanted to edit, use the 'Save Optimizer Changes' button in the bottom right to publish!

If you'd like to review your changes, you can click 'View Example Proposal' in the bottom left.
