# What is the difference between Display Name and Docs Custom Display Name?

Owner feature only!

An option's **Display Name** will update the name the option appears with on the proposal. It will only have an effect on the *proposal*. These are available for the following MissionControl settings: 

- Finance Options
- Modules
- Inverters
- Batteries
- Adders

**Docs Custom Display** **Name** will update the name that the option appears with on your documents. It will not have an effect on the proposal, only the documents. These are available for the following MissionControl settings: 

- Modules
- Inverters
- Adders

**Please note:**  Docs custom display name will only be displayed on SoloSign documents. It will not affect the information on lender documents.
